Ludwig Leichhardt

By Goat’s Rice

And also Awill.

Between 1831 & 1836 I studied philosophy, language and natural sciences at the university of Gottingen and berlin but never received a university degree.

Starting in December 1846, was supposed to take him from the darling downs to the west coast of Australia, and ultimately to swan river and Perth.

Dear journal

It is now poring with rain; I am sick and so is everyone else and are covered in boils. Should we go to the next town to get medicine supplies? Yes or no

After recovering, we spent six weeks in 1847 to examine the course of the condemned river and the country, between the routes of another expedition lead by Mitchell in 1846 and his own route, covering almost 1,000 km. find the dingo to continue.

In 1872 the south Australian Government offered 2000 pounds to the first person to reach Gulf of Carpentaria, to Melbourne when Ludwig played a leading role when his party went missing and was never found.
