  1. DemoSat Environments & General Requirements DemoSat Training

  2. Environments: • - Reach ~32 km (100,000 feet) • Size varies typically no bigger than 20 cm cube • DemoSat mass ranges from 1 kg to 5 kg • Total flight not to exceed 25 kg • Faced with extreme engineering and environmental challenges • Mach I, -80 C, Condensation, • Impact, vacuum

  3. Environments: - Launch is usually calm - 1,000 to 1,500 feet per minute ascent rates

  4. Environments: - Discovering that after burst extremely violent - Must take this into account when designing - Or else Click here for a Flight Demonstration

  5. Environments: - Near landing is usually better until impact…

  6. Environments: - Near landing is usually better until impact…

  7. Environments: - Impact at nearly 2,000 feet per minute

  8. EOSS: • In Colorado, we work with a company called EOSS or Edge of Space Sciences • EOSS is non-profit organization • Total Launch cost $300-$500 • They have many launch sites around the state • Have the experience, equipment, and connections www.eoss.org

  10. General Requirements: - Total mass will be a major concern for DemoSat - It is important that all mass budgets are met - Flight string cannot exceed 25 kg. - Should have identification on DemoSat - Name / Organization - Contact # - Warning, “Do Not Disturb. Please contact first”
