  1. Psalm 102:25-28 Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, 27  but you are the same, and your years have no end. 28  The children of your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before you.

  2. Ezra&Nehemiah “Building God’s People and Projects”

  3. Why Ezra and Nehemiah? In Ezra and Nehemiah God reveals how to work with Him to build His People and His Projects in such a way that they will endure a long long time. Projects Because since the start of human history, God has used time and space to meet with his people People Because empty hearts lead to empty worship, and empty worship leads to empty buildings…but God deserves our praise!

  4. Since the start of human history, God has used time and space to meet with his people BUT he knows he must also build His people, because empty hearts lead to empty worship, and empty worship inevitably leads to empty buildings God intends to use our new space and our full hearts to bring Glory to Himself and new people to His Church!

  5. Chuck Colson The work of the Lord is always precisely that – the work of the Lord. Whenever we are moved by the Word of God to take up the work He has assigned to us, we still require His presence to strengthen and enable us. Unless God is at work within us to will and do of His good pleasure, we’ll never do anything He wants us to do. So the Lord stirred up the spirits of the leaders and the people and they (began) the work of building the temple (God typically works through us from the inside-out). When we pray for the Lord to revive us, we must be sure to focus on revival as a work that only God can do by His Spirit. We cannot revive ourselves. We cannot motivate ourselves nor resolve within ourselves to get busier about building the Lord’s Church. We need the Lord for such to occur. So let us seek the Spirit of God to move upon our spirits, making us willing and able to pursue the agenda of our Lord Jesus Christ. If we will, not even the gates of hell will be able to stand against us.

  6. Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25  not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

  7. God’s stirring up always leads to renewed Worship

  8. 2 Chronicles 36:17-22 20  And those who escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, where they became servants to him and his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia, 21  to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years

  9. God’s stirring up always Enables His Work- sometimes from unlikely sources

  10. God’s stirring up always Engages his people in His Work
