Objectives • The Students will know: • The 5 major religions of the world • The Students will understand: • Respecting and understanding peoples’ beliefs is crucial to respecting and understanding people. • The Students will be able to: • Identify the locations of the world's major religions • Identify the major beliefs of the world's major religions • Locate selected countries of the world on a map.

  4. Hinduism • Monotheistic—worship many forms of one god • But kind of polytheistic—many gods with different characteristics • Founder=none • Text(s)= Vedas, Upanishads • Location= India and parts of SE Asia

  5. Hinduism • Main Beliefs: • Reincarnation based on your karma • Goal: achieve oneness with Brahman through the accumulation of good karma
