  7. Lessons Learned:Interview Process • Split Wave 2 to Wave 2A & 2B • Developer Pre-test • Not intended to be pass/fail (however earning a 0 on the test will not fly) • Looking to gain insight on a developer’s ability to solve complex problems under pressure • Pre-test to be delivered after resume submission • Rate Preferences • A score will be assigned based on how close to the budget a candidate is • Notifications • “Dear John letters” will be delayed to ensure candidate selections and maintain an adequate backup list • Interview quality • Please work with your candidates to ensure a smooth interview process (no stairwells, people driving or in their car not driving…or other issues such as being in an altered state of mind…unfortunately, we aren’t joking here…)

  8. Lessons Learned:Vendor Interaction • We want to partner with vendors to identify the best candidates • Everyone on equal footing with equal access • Selection panel meetings to discuss desired traits for each position (starting with a developer conversation during the week of 9/2/14) • Working on a better Web site to handle communications • Please bear with us as we have a tremendous amount of tasks going on at once • Wave 2 SOWs are completed now, we are waiting for ISD to publish them on our Web site. If they are not published today, we will send an email with the SOWs attached for your review. • New hire/Relocation information packets to be sent out today

  9. Lessons Learned:Updated Contact • Shannon Craneshannon.crane@cares.alabama.gov • Chris Simschris.sims@cares.alabama.gov
