  1. Boxes in Two Point Perspective

  2. Place your paper in portrait position. Add Eye Level Line and Two Vanishing Points on each end of the Eye Level Line

  3. Draw a vertical line above the eye level line. Draw transversal lines to show the depth of your box. Transversal lines form the nearest and furthest edges of a rectangle as it recedes from view. Draw orthogonallinesfrom the top and bottom of the vertical line that will converge at the vanishing points.

  4. Draw orthogonal lines that recede back to the vanishing points from the deep corners of the box (the bottom of the transversal lines).

  5. Repeat the process for the second box. Always begin with a vertical line that represents the closest corner of your cube.

  6. Draw transversal lines to show the depth of your box. Transversal lines form the nearest and furthest edges of a rectangle as it recedes from view. Draw orthogonallines from the top and bottom of the vertical line that will converge at the vanishing points. Make these lines very light (whisper lines) as the lines that will be overlapped by other objects will need erased. Draw orthogonallines from the top and bottom of the vertical line that will converge at the vanishing points.

  7. Repeat the process for the box that is “on” the eye level line. Erase your guide lines.

  8. Repeat the process for the two boxes that are “below” the eye level line.

  9. Calculating Diminishing Sizes U • Finding the center of a panel To find the center of a panel, begin with an “X” on that panel. Draw a orthogonal line through the center of the X Draw a perfectly vertical line through the center of the “X”. Erase the X

  33. 1 pattern containing diamonds Draw a orthogonal line through the center of each one of the four corners back to the vanishing point. Draw a vertical line through the center. Find the center. Draw a orthogonal line through the center back to the vanishing point. Continue to draw parallel diagonal lines that connect each smaller squares corners. Draw a vertical line through the center of each one of the corner squares. Draw an X through the center of each one of the four corner boxes to locate their center.
