  1. Ukraine is thankful to you the people of big and warm heart, who are united by Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Project.

Borodyanka– the centre of the district in Kiev oblast situated in 75km from Chernobyl According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine: 22 settlements belong to zone No 3 (in which people are eligible for voluntary relocation). and 59 settlements belong to zone No 4 (zone of strict radiological control).

About our district: Information Villagers of resettled people : • The population of our district is 56402, • 53134 have the status of the person affected by the accident among them 11220 of children. • After the catastrophe the people of five settlements were removed to our district. • Health-75% of people have chronicaldeseases

Borodyanskyy Centre of socio-psychological rehabilitation of population and its informing about overcoming the consequences of Chernobyl catastrophe. • In our activity we use the state laws; • We are for partnership; • We organize service for all age-categories of people; • We try to encourage the development of local communities; • We support volunteerness.

  6. Precondition of the Centers foundation • After Chernobyl catastrophe the social and phychological problems of population were highlited in region affected by the Chernobyl accident. • Scared by the radiation, poorly informed about the practical aspects of the consequences, without trust to Government, people were disoriented with regard to actual situation in the regions. • ” Syndrome of Victim ” was in brains of people living in contaminated areas.

  7. Ukraine, Belarus and Russia addressed international community to receive help in overcoming the humanitarian consequences of the catastrophe and the Project No 64 ”UNECKO - Chernobyl” was passed in 1993. The main result of the Project was creation of the rehabilitation centres (3 centres in every country). The specialists of these centres were trained by the Project. Our Goal: Socio – psychological help to the population, giving the possibility of receiving the true information and encouragement in the development of local communities, affected by the Chernobyl accident.

  8. In 1998 the Project No 64 ”UNECKO - Chernobyl” was closed and the centres had received the state management. (the possibility of different activity was limited and in 1999 the NGO ”Community Development Fund” was created. This NGO is the supporting organization for the rehabilitation center and has a great honour to be an official partner of the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Project. ”Community Development Fund” supports the Centre’s activity and encourages the integration of the Centre’s experience to the international community. At the international exhibition ” Chernobyl : ecology, human, health” Development of local communities in Kirgizstan.

  9. The main aim of this partnership is saving the health of younger generation, born in the families of post catastrophe period, and encouragement of all possibilities. Thank you, dears, for help and understanding ! Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline in Borodyanka Ukraine cooperation with the staff of the local hospital work at the children’s departmentof local hospital data bank of children for recuperation work of community Committee on selection groups.
