So what is a hyperbole and how can I remember what it means??? • In simple terms- A HYPERBOLE is an extreme exaggeration to make a point and probably could never actually happen. • I can remember the meaning of HYPERBOLE in a goofy way. If a person is “hyper” they are demonstrating extreme, crazy behavior. Hyperboles are extreme and crazy sayings.

  4. Let’s look at some examples! • I waited eternity for the bus! • I’m so hungry, I could eat a horse! • It took my sister a million years to get ready! • His brain was the size of an ant! • Her shoes looked like boats! • Hyperboles are a great way to jazz up your writing!

  5. What does it really mean? • You could have knocked me over with a feather! • I will die if he asks me to go with him to the dance! • Her eyes were as wide as saucers!
