  2. The Ohio Recreational Sports Association Succession Plan ensures continuity and accountability throughout the association’s committee members. The plan enables the ORSA leadership team to have a better understanding of the entire association by offering each member a wide range of experiences during his/her time serving on the Executive Committee. Purpose

  3. ORSA’s fiscal and programming year • Committee positions (non-executive committee) will assume responsibilities at the conclusion of the fall workshop. • Fiscal year will run January – December • Budget approval in December/Implementation in January Updates beginning after fall workshop (non-voting)

  4. Executive Committee Current • President, Vice President, Secretary, Student Representative • Two year term (professional) / one year term (student) • Terms begin at conclusion of NIRSA conference Proposed • President Elect, President, Past President, Student Representative • Three year term (professional)/one year term (student), voting at state workshop • Terms begin at conclusion of state workshop Proposed Constitutional Amendments (voting)

Executive Committee Proposed – President Elect • Committees/Marketing Coordinator • Short/long range goals and objectives • Attend/speak at the ORSA Workshop New Member Orientation • Record meeting minutes Current - Secretary • Chair of ORSA Host Site Committee • Record meeting minutes • Attend/speak at ORSA business meetings Proposed Constitutional Amendments (voting)

Executive Committee Current – Vice President • Coordinate and oversee all the day to day operations of the Standing and Ad-Hoc committees. • Work with Marketing Coordinator to develop and coordinate all ORSA multi-media applications. • Assist in development of short and long range goals and objectives. • Attend and speak at the ORSA Workshop New Member Orientation. Proposed – Past President • Collaborate with N&E Committee to recruit President Elect and Student Representative candidates • Manage fall workshop & Host Site Committee • Collaborate with Treasurer with all monetary functions associated with fall workshop • Lead the outgoing and incoming committee member meeting at the annual fall workshop Proposed Constitutional Amendments (voting)

  7. Executive Committee Current – President • Preside over all state business meetings, enforce laws and regulations of the association and carry out the will of the members • The President shall appoint the Treasurer and all committees. • Facilitate upcoming goals and objectives of ORSA Executive Committee • coordinate the new member orientation at the annual state workshop Proposed – President • Preside over all state business meetings, enforce laws and regulations of the association and carry out the will of the members • Recruit/select members for appointed positions • Assist Past President in all operational functions of annual fall workshop • Facilitate upcoming Goals and Objectives of the ORSA • Coordinate New Member Orientation at the fall workshop Proposed Constitutional Amendments (voting)

Executive Committee Current – Student Rep • The student representative will work closely with the ORSA President, National Student representative, Region III Student Representative and Region III Vice President. • Maintain communication with student members through campus reps, assist with the coordination of student activities/presentations at the ORSA State Workshop and Region III Student Lead On, • Conduct a student session at the ORSA State Workshop and serve on the Student Leadership and Development Committee. Proposed – Student Rep • Act as co-chair of the Marketing and Leadership and Development Committees • Serve on the Executive Committee and collaborate with the President on all association correspondence. • Collaborate with the ORSA President, National Student representative, Region III Student Representative and Region III Vice President to inform and educate students through conference presentations and committee involvement. Proposed Constitutional Amendments (voting)

Vacancies • Past President becomes vacant • President assumes responsibilities and takes over Past President at next ORSA Business Meeting • President becomes vacant • President Elect assumes responsibilities and takes over as President at next ORSA Business Meeting • President Elect becomes vacant • President assumes responsibilities until the next ORSA Business Meeting • Student Representative becomes vacant • President Elect assumes responsibilities. Election held at the next ORSA Business Meeting Proposed Constitutional Amendments (voting)

Appointed Positions Treasurer • Three-year term with mutual option to extend • Recruiting period for vacant position: 30 days prior to the appointment Marketing Coordinator • Three-year term with mutual option to extend • Recruiting period for vacant position: 30 days prior to the appointment • Chair Marketing Committee Updates to appointed positions (non-voting)

  11. Committee Structure Ad-hoc and Appointed • Chair – two year term, option to renew, no more than four consecutive years • Co-Chair – two year term, no option to renew • Member – one year term, may reapply • Student Member – one year term, may reapply Committee updates (non-voting)
