CCC – Contract Education • Education Bound US Program (EBUS) • This international student program encompasses international high school-to-college programs and a foreign university partnership • It is designed to generate a pipeline of successful international students to the Coast District and U.S. universities.   • The programs enable students to effectively improve their English language skills, obtain college success skills, and take college courses while attending high school or college in their native country, through onsite, blended, or facilitated distance learning delivery

CCC – Contract Education • Corporate/Workforce Program • Includes fee-based Career & Assessment Services, Workforce Training Programs, and Corporate Online programs • Military Programs • Includes fee-based/contract education programs designed for active duty military Servicemembers, their dependents, and Veterans who are located all over the world 6

CCC – Instructional Systems Development Through strategic joint-ventures and grants in collaboration with publishers and academic institutions nationwide, Coast Learning Systems (CLS) has developed and markets innovative learning systems using the following modalities: • Online courses - lecture and lab (30 courses) • Textbooks (10 full textbooks) • Lab kits and manuals (3 labs) • Television-based courses (Telecourses and DVDs) – (15 courses) • Study Guides (15) • Test banks • Audiovisual resources (500+ programs) • CD-ROM and PDA-based courses (10) • Course development and consultation • Learning course management system hosting (Seaport Learning Course Management System)

  8. GWC - CVS • Long term facility lease at the corner of Golden West and McFadden • Development costs were paid for by CVS Pharmacies • $350,000 annual dedicated revenue for GWC • This on-going revenue source helps the college balance its budget and support students

District-Wide • Foundations • Exist to support core mission of each college and district • Enterprise • For-profit corporation that’s supports core mission. • Land • Connell Chevrolet Lease • International Student Programs • The ISDA (International Student Dual Admission Program) has formed partnerships with a number of four-year universities throughout the United States

Legislation • AB 515 – Community College Extension Programs • This bill would establish the California Community Colleges Extension Pilot Program to permit the governing board of a community college district that meets specified requirements to establish and maintain an extension program offering credit courses. • AB 216 – Inmate Education • This bill would require the open course provisions in statute or regulations of the Board of Governors to be waived for a Governing Board of Community College that provides courses to inmates. • AB 285 – Property Tax Revenues • This bill would require the annual Budget Act to specify the total local property tax revenue, as defined, for community college districts upon which the General Fund appropriation for community college districts is based.

Enrollment Management • Manage FTEs targets/growth • Colleges are assigned an FTES target at the beginning of each year • Growth funding, especially in recent years, has been volatile and uncertain • Growth funds are not reflected in our on-going budget until the year following their receipt • Colleges are therefore expected to utilize their own dedicated resources to meet these growth targets
