Promote use of software engineering standards among clients, practitioners, and educators. Harmonize national and international software engineering standards development • Forty+ Standards in Software and Systems Engineering

S2ESC Liaisons • Active liaisons with: • ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 • ASQ Software Division • Software Engineering Institute (SEI) • Software and Systems Engineering Consortium (SSCI) • NASA • US DoD • US DOE • Ukrainian Software Engineering Training Center • Planned liaisons with: • GEIA Systems Committee (G-47) • INCOSE

S2ESC Current Activity Highlights • Standards Development • Standards approved and in publication • Adoption of ISO/IEC 15288, System Life Cycle Processes, • Revision of IEEE 1012, Software Verification • New revision to include systems now proceeding • Revision of IEEE 1220, IEEE Standard for the Application and Management of the Systems Engineering Process, as first step in harmonization with ISO/IEC 15228 is almost complete. • 20+ Standards currently in development/revision • Software Assurance Common Body of Knowledge • Best Practices Clearinghouse

  5. Software Assurance Common Body of Knowledge • Terms of Reference • Development of the Body of Knowledge for Software Assurance • In support of US DoD and DHS needs • Activity just starting • S2ESC invited to participate • Assigned to High Integrity Systems Planning Group
