The ISMIE Dependent Interviewing Workshop held on September 17, 2004, aimed to compare varying methods of dependent and independent interviewing in a UK context. By utilizing data from the European Community Household Panel Survey (ECHP), it explored proactive versus reactive dependent interviewing across several question sets, including employment and income. The workshop assessed differences in estimates and directly measured measurement errors. A sample of 1,163 respondents participated, providing valuable insights into effective questioning techniques for low-income households over established recall periods.
