  4. Learning Target I can model and rehearse Mr. Spann’s classroom procedures. I can list the classroom guidelines and give examples for each one.

  6. WARM-UP • Tell me about your summer. What was your favorite part of the summer and why was it your favorite?

  7. Beginning of Class Procedures • Appropriate Entrance • Get Materials • Copy Learning target • Begin Warm-up • EMLW (Elephants Might Like Walnuts or Enter My Learning World)

  9. Entrance • Wait quietly until the previous class is dismissed • Appropriate language and voice level • Appropriate body language • Say “hello” to Mr. Spann

  10. Materials • Pick up pencil and workbook • Pick up your iPad2 from Mr. Spann • Each iPad2 has a number • Check out your iPad2 by number • Set your iPad2 at your desk

  11. iPad2 Specifics • Touch the screen with your fingers. • Clean only with the cleaning cloth. • Hold firmly while carrying. • Carry with case closed. • Keep all four desk legs on the floor at all times. • I will say, “Hit your home screens in 5, 4, 3 …” close up the case or turn your screen to me before “1” • Gum, candy and drinks are not friends of the iPad2!!

  12. Wait Time You may go to any app I will keep records for math apps

  13. Attending Skills • I will hold my hand in the air and say, “I need your attending skills.” • Hold your hand in the air and give me your full attention. • When I drop my hand, you may drop yours, but remain attentive.

  14. End of Class Procedures • Return Materials • Clean your Area • Sit at your Desk until teacher dismissal • Exit appropriately • MADE (follow these procedures and you’ve got it MADE)

  15. M.A.D.E. • Return Materials • Clean your Area • Sit at your Desk until teacher dismissal • Exit appropriately

  16. Return Materials • 7 Minutes before class ends, a timer will sound. Wrap up your work. • Return pencil and workbook. • Clear apps and delete your email account. • Traffic flow goes back into effect. Return your iPad2 to me. • After you give me your iPad2, return to your seat. I dismiss you from your seat.

  17. Restrooms • Use the restroom during restroom breaks • Water in the room • Raise your hand and point for a drink of water • Return appropriately to your seat • Emergencies • Raise your hand and ask

  18. Guidelines Always show dignity and respect. Be honest. Be patient.

  19. “Shout out” First and last name Birthday Favorite color Favorite food Favorite book or movie

  20. Make a Project! • Go to Keynote, pages, or whiteboard • Title it “Mr. Spann’s Procedures & Guidelines” • List the procedures and find an image for each one • List the guidelines and find an image for each one

  21. Exit Slip • Write out your beginning procedures (EMLW). • Write out your ending procedures (MADE). • List the three classroom guidelines.
