  5. Introduction Location: On Mun River • 5.5Km upstream from Confluence of Mekong River • Time of construction: 1990-1994 • Effective capacity: 76MW • Operation procedure: 8 months in a year or according to steer committees • The last dam built in Thailand

Conclusions • People in the affected area are seemed to be happy with support from the government of Thailand via EGAT • The villagers formerly fishermen are now have increased income from the other off-farm sources • This case study has showed the real meaningful of stakeholder participations • More than 10 years after the dam construction, there is a huge change in local villagers’ livelihoods

Recommendations Recommendations from the villagers • Improve infrastructure condition • Health centers, hospitals, temples, roads • Want EGAT to continue developing community • EGAT Buy shrimp and fish e.g. • More development of irrigation in the community • Provide the supports for cultural conservation • Develop tourism activites in PMD area • Want EGAT supporting them to have cows or buffalos • Provide them jobs
