  2. PEMDAS – Order of Operations Flipbook • Students create a flipbook by folding 4 pieces of paper in a stair step fashion. • They write the title: “Order of Operations – PEMDAS” on the first flap. They write each of the individual steps on the rest of the flaps. • Students illustrate and / or write in their own words what this mathematical practice means and show its application in an example inside the flap.

  3. Step 1: Lay out the paper • Students create a flipbook by folding 7 pieces of paper in a stair step fashion.

  4. Step 3: Label the Top • Write the title: “Order of Operations – PEMDAS” on the first flap.

  5. Step 4: Label the Six Steps • Write each of the individual steps on the rest of the flaps. • Parenthesis • Exponents • Multiple & Divide • Addition & Subtraction

  6. Step 5: Describe the Operation • Illustrate and/or write in your own words what this operation means and show its application in an example inside the flap.

  7. Step 6 – Decorate & Staple
