  2. Each year , 400 -4000 babies in the United States are born with toxoplasmosis. It has been estimated that 30 to 50 percent of the world's human population has been infected with Toxoplasma and harbors the clinically inapparent cyst form. from Cornell Feline Health Center, Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Ithaca, New York and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
