  2. ATTENDANCE • 64 participants • Ages K-12 • 7 different workshops

  3. Engineering and Solar Energy- Jenni Light Workshop description: Learn about basic electricity and how solar panels work. Eat some solar baked cookies!

  6. What are you most excited about learning or doing at today‘s conference?

  7. Set Lasers to Fun-Molly Wakeling • Measure the width of a human hair using laser • Send music wirelessly over the air with light

  8. I would be interested in joining a STEM club at my school.

  10. I am interested in taking part in other STEM/NT conferences, events, camps, clubs, etc.

  11. Learn to Code-Jason Blazzard • Read and write the basic control structures that are common in any coding language. • Obtain an introduction to Computer Science related degrees that are the top paying careers • Computer programming jobs are growing at double the national average

  12. I am aware of the career possibilities available to me with a degree in a STEM/NT field.

  13. How has today’s conference changed your view of STEM or NT careers?

  22. What worked well • The workshops were fun and presenters were thrilled to teach students about their career • Students got to go on a campus tour – including the dorms! • Each student left with a door prize and a huge bag of scientific activities and goodies

  23. Next year would be better if: • Partner with additional community and K-12 programs • Coordinating time frames to accommodate parents • Provide simple program for parents
