  2. What is a Title I Schoolwide Program? • A comprehensive reform strategy to improve the academic achievement of all students in the school, particularly the lowest achieving students. inspire . innovate . excel

  3. What are the Benefits? • Coordination and Integration of Instruction • Accountability for All • Unified, Focused Goals • Flexibility in Resources inspire . innovate . excel

  4. All for All • All stakeholders take responsibility for the success of all children in the school. inspire . innovate . excel

  5. What Eligibility and Requirements are Necessary? • School poverty at least 40% • One year of planning prior to implementation • Identification of individual students not required with Schoolwide program • Program effectiveness is evaluated annually inspire . innovate . excel

  6. Core Elements • Comprehensive needs assessment of the entire school to determine the performance of its students in relation to the state’s content and performance standards. inspire . innovate . excel

Core Elements continued • A comprehensive plan that includes: • Reform Strategies, Highly Qualified Teachers and Paraprofessionals and increase Parent Involvement • Transition of students • Ongoing academic assessment measures • Effective and timely assistance • Coordination and integration of federal, state and local services and programs inspire . innovate . excel

  8. Core Elements continued • On-going evaluation of the implementation of the schoolwide plan and the results achieved by the program inspire . innovate . excel

  9. Fiscal Flexibility • The school must maintain records that show the program, as a whole, addresses the intent and purpose of each of the Federal programs consolidated to support it, • The amount of Federal funds used in a Schoolwide program must be supplemental to the amount of State and local funds the school would otherwise receive inspire . innovate . excel

  10. General Requirements • Schoolwide must meet requirements relating to health, safety, civil rights; student and parental participation and involvement; services to private school children; maintenance of effort; comparability of services; and distribution/receipt of funds. inspire . innovate . excel
