  2. The Nursing Collection • Premiere Nursing Collection in New England. • Historical Materials. • Current Materials. • Additional Resources: - B.L.C. Medical Libraries. - Countway Library.

  3. The Libraries O’Neill Library Kennedy Resource Center Social Work Library Burns Archives

  4. O’Neill Library • Designated resource library for nursing materials for the New England Region. • The circulating nursing collection is on the 3rd floor of O’Neill Library, as are reference materials. • Nursing history and nursing dissertations are covered by microfiche sets housed in the Microfilm Department. • Publications of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services are included in Government Documents.

Burns Library • Archival Materials, such as the Nursing Book Collection, and the Nursing andMedical Ethics manuscript collection are housed in Burns. • The manuscript collection contains papers and memoribilia from individuals and organizations including: -Josephine Dolan (History of Nursing) -Eugene G. LaForet (Bio-medical Ethics Collection) -The American Association of Nurse Attorneys -North American Nursing Diagnosis Association

  6. Kennedy Resource Center • Video Collection • Interactive Learning Resource Lab • Computer software • Classroom and Conference Room • Mac and PC computers with internet access

  7. Social Work LibraryMcGuinn Lower Level The Social Work Library contains resources that are relevant to nursing students in overlapping subject areas: • Psychology • Case Management • Managed Care • Interdisciplinary Teams

Services • Research Consultations with the Nursing Librarian. • Instruction classes focused on Nursing/Health Science Databases internet research, and online catalog. • Research assistance at the O’Neill Reference Desk 7 days a week. • Literature Review by the Nursing Librarian for small fee. • Document Delivery. • Alerting Service. • Virtual Data Center.

Desktop ResearchOnline Resources • Boston College students, faculty, and staff have off-campus access to electronic resources such as: - Online Catalog QUEST - Over 200 I & A and Fulltext Databases - Electronic Journals - Selected Websites • The O’Neill Reference Desk is available to assist off-campus researchers by telephone and e-mail 7 days a week. An online Research Guide for Nursingcan be linked to from the Library Homepage.
