  1. Ramsbottom A.S.C Swim Meets for 2010

  2. Introduction • Ramsbottom Swim club provides opportunities for competitive swimmers, of all levels, to participate as individuals in externally organised swim meets.

  3. The Goal! • It is hoped that for 2010 we can actively participate in a number of external galas, each time taking a squad of swimmers to compete with swimmers of a similar competition standard. • We aim to maximise the number of swimmers participating in competitions, for this reason we select teams for some galas specifically focusing on development on a rotational basis, from those swimmers with proven competitive experience

  4. Why participate? • Participation at these external galas will provide; • a focus for your training • opportunities to enhance your performance • opportunities to swim against other swimmers of similar ability • opportunities to represent your club

  5. The Leagues • National Arena League • Central Lancashire Junior League • North East Lancashire Friendly League (NELF) • Central Lancashire Junior Jubilee

  6. External Swim Meets 2010 • Central Lancashire Preliminary Age Groups • Lancashire age groups Championships • Central Lancashire Championships & Age groups • North West Regional Age Groups • Central Lancashire Warburtons • North West Regional Championships • January • March • April • June • October • November

  7. Grading of Swim Meets • Swim meets are licensed at level 1, level 2 or level 3. • Level 3 Swim Meets tend to operate a ‘not faster than’ time consideration achieved to gain entry. • Level 2 Swim Meets tend to have maximum and minimum times which swimmers are required to have achieved, to gain entry. • Level 1 Swim Meets tend to have times which swimmers must ‘be faster than’ and have acquired at a licensed meet. Level 1 meets are intended for those swimmers attempting to achieve National Qualifying Times.

  8. ASA Registration Number • If you participate in licensed level 1,2,3 Meets please make sure you have an ASA registration Number. • The Club will apply to the ASA for your unique number . • Without this registration number you will not be allowed to apply for entry into any licensed meet. • The ASA registration form and registration at category 2 can be obtained from the ASA Membership Secretary.
