  3. Fundraisers On Saturday (April 26) of Convention, we will feature an "Orange Out" in honor of Dale Croston. We will be selling shirts at convention as well as at later most March workshops. All profits will be donated to two causes important to Dale and his family. Sshhhh… It’s a Secret! As a final note, we are trying to keep the full details of this project somewhat under wraps. Lisa Croston knows about the Orange Out, and knows that we are looking at donating, but she doesn't know we are including the whole district in the fundraiser.

  4. Service! Help us by donating your musical supplies and writing encouraging notes to our friends in the Tennyson MS band in Waco, TX. We will collecting donations and notes at every area workshop and District Convention! In addition to helping an underprivileged music program, the university/chapter with the most participation will receive a VIP table for banquet at convention! Whothis benefits: The Tennyson Middle School Band program in Waco, TX Needs: Reeds, method books, valve oil, stands, instruments etc. Note Criteria: Encouraging notes. No specific length.   5. #SWDCon2014 • Get involved!  • Saturday is • Saturday 11:00 AM – Conductor’s Forum including: • Christine Beason • Travis Cross • Amy Dauphanais • Rick Espinosa • Dawn Farmer • John Graham • Jack Lee • Vendor Area is Outside – come prepared for elements. If it rains, we do have an alternate place • Displays are in a different location than Vendors. • Auxiliary Workshop will be held again! Practice Flags will be provided, but you must bring your own sabers, riffles, etc.,if you want to use those items. Orange Out

  6. #SWDCon2014 Reading Band To allow for a more balanced ensemble, we are going to have standard numbers. It will be first come, first serve, so if you register now, and want to be involved with reading band, you will basically be guaranteed a spot. Here are the numbers we are using to create the ensemble: 1 Piccolo 8 Flutes 2 Oboes 1 English Horn 2 Bassoons 12 Clarinets 4 Altos 2 Tenors & 2 Bari 8 French Horns 10 Trumpets 5 Trombones 1 Bass Trombone 4 Baritones 4 Tubas 10 Percussion Everyone involved will be contacted by the member of the council prior to convention, so that we can confirm your involvement and get an alternate person involved if needed.

  7. SundayFunday! We’re going to get out and get healthy Sunday April 27th at 7:00 AM! Those in the district who are runners/walkers, can run/walk the Baylor Bear Trail (2.25 miles). For those who don’t like to run/walk in a circle, we are going to offer Zumba on Sunday morning which will hopefully be lead by Carolynn McCambridge, current TBΣ Board of Trustees member!
