  2. Signal Timing Plan - 2008 Update • 8 square miles in NE quadrant • 9 arterials (4 EW and 5 NS) • Craig to Nellis to Washington to Las Vegas Blvd • 140 intersections • New timing plans (splits, offsets, sequences, but most CL stayed the same) • Orth-Rodgers & Associates • Under budget + on time => Add’l locations (UNLV) • Very high B/C ratio resulting

  3.  Partnership • RTC~NDOT Interlocal Agreement for FAST Services (O&M) extended for… …four more years! • NDOT stipend boosted by $1M / year: • Performance Measurement (our new mantra) • More freeways equipped with ITS

  4.  Partnership • Ours is a Great Marriage, now past the ‘honeymoon’ period

  5. Freeway Corridor Projects Update Stage I Complete Stage II Complete US 95 ITS 98% Complete Package B Under Construction I-15 N. Design-Build 85% Complete I-15 S. Design-Build Under Construction Beltway Freeway Management System

  6. Fast Text Messaging Subscription Freeway Traffic Alerts • Pilot Program Started Feb. 2009 • 900 Sign-ups (at www.rtcsnv.com)

  7. Sample Text Message (SMS) I-15 NORTH @ MLK EXIT RAMP CRASH BLOCKING MLK EXIT RAMP USE OTHER ROUTES 9/4/09 12:52 PM

  8. Boulder Hwy Adaptive System • SCATS installed late 2008 • 10 intersections (8 on Boulder Hwy, plus 2 off) • Communication was a challenge • Detection reworking was a challenge • Not exactly a success (or failure) • Before-and-After showed no great improvement • Seems to require more maintenance ‘babysitting’ • No plans to expand SCATS

  9. FAST officially joins TMCPFS • The Pooled-Fund Study concept = State DOTs form a cooperative to conduct applied research • Many narrow-focused PFS have been created • FHWA administers the program • The TMC PFS is focused on needs and practices of Traffic Management Centers • RTC-FAST joined as an independent voice in 2009 • We also hosted this year’s Annual Meeting

  10. Continuing to Provide Services • To our 4 valued “clients” (signal coord) • City of Las Vegas • City of Henderson • City of North Las Vegas • Clark County • To our esteemed “partner” (freeway ITS) • Nevada DOT
