  1. Welcome parents! SEVEC Youth French Exchange

  2. What is the SEVEC French exchange? • The SEVEC French exchange program is a homestay exchange program involving the twinning of groups from different provinces or territories. • It is a subsidized program in which return transportation costs between exchange destinations are covered for all youth participants, chaperones and Group Organizers. • Exchange groups pay for all local transportation and educational activities during their exchange. • SEVEC aims to have groups with similar demographics and educational objectives twinned together.

  4. Dates • HGI students will be in Quebec from January 30th, 2010- February 6th, 2010. • École Jésus-Marie de Beauceville will be in Winnipeg from May 8th , 2010- May 15th, 2010.

  6. Selection process… • The application process. • Applications will be available on Ms. Sousa’s weebly. www.mssousa220.weebly.com

  7. Selection process continued… • All applications must be turned into me by Wednesday October 28th no later than 3:25 pm in room 220. • All reference letters due by November 3rd no later than 3:25 • All students will be notified by Friday November 6th.

  8. Host Family. • Safety and security is the number one priority during the exchange experience. • The screening process • Twinning the participants.

  9. Costs • Approximately $400. • Covers all activities and transportation for the whole stay.
