OBS Architecture • OBSD • Storage components of the system to be shared • Disk drives, RAID subsystems, tape drives, optical drives, or other storage devices • Initiator device • Application clients, issue OSD commands to access the OBSD • Service delivery subsystem • Used by components in OBS model to intercommunicate, usually iscsi protocol
OBS Architecture • Policy/Storage manager • Coordinates access constraints between OSD device servers and application clients • Prepares the capabilities application clients places in CDB to gain access to OSD objects • Security manager
