  1. Dearest Team Members EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT: the Power of Positive Attitude Happy National Day to all! I am in my 4th years of working in Mary Kay and close to reaching 5 years already. I am proud to announce that we have debuted another Sales Director in our area, SD Cindy Lam! I am so proud of her, if you observed her classes one day, she has evolved into her own “CINDY LAM skincare/makeup class”. When I first met Cindy, she was so shy, unsure of herself, and with constant encouragement from all of us, she has blossomed into an American Rose. This is such a great job satisfaction which I will never get in the corporate world. This 4th years and 8 months of working in Mary Kay, I learnt a very precious KEY lesson which is EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT. One of the hardest things to learn when it comes to manage your own business is how to manage our emotions. This is such an important skill if you are to attract the things that you want into your life that you should devote some time and energy to it. We attract to us what we think and feel about the most, so the more we let our negative emotions rule the more negative things we will attract to ourselves. Sometimes it can be difficult to stay positive when the world around us throws the stuff at us it does, however, regardless of what the world does we need to manage our own emotional state. • Every day we all have to deal with people or situations or things in our lives that cause us to feel down and out or angry or any number of other negative emotions. That is a normal part of life. The difference is in how you allow it to effect you. Any number of things could happen from a failed relationship, to failed friendships to trouble and stress on the job. Your ability is to keep your eye on your goals and manage your emotions and keep them in the positive realm is directly in alignment with your success and your ability to attract everything you want in your life. • Here are some tips you can do to keep your emotions in a positive state: • 1) Keep your mind on where you are going regardless of what happens right now. • 2) Think of this is only a temporary situation, but your goals and the future you want to build become a part of your everyday life. A runner doesn’t focus on the pain in his legs or the people next to him. He keeps his eye on the finish line and pushes with everything he has until he crosses that line. Then he can look back at the pain and the other runners and what happened as all of that is a part of the past at that point, and as we all know, the past is gone and will never return. • 3) Another important thing to remember when things happen is that this one thing isn’t your entire life. If you have someone at work who gives you problems, remember that person is just that person. It isn’t your spouse, or the hobbies that you have, or all of the other things you have going on in your life. The good will always outweigh the bad if you remember to think about them.

  3. 4) There is always more good going on in your life and more positive there if you take the time to see it. We often allow what is happening right now to cloud our entire emotional state and life. We allow things to consume our thinking, and this will only slow down your progress and accomplishments. • Remember to manage your emotions or your emotions will manage you. Keep your eyes on the goal and keep moving toward it no matter what. Even if things do get so bad that it feels as though nothing but bullets and bombs are flying at you, keep moving. Manage your emotions and keep them in the positive, and as soon as you begin to recognise that they are moving into the negative, make a shift in your head and your heart. The universe rewards those who take action and manage their life. so Stay on your game and keep going for your dreams because the World needs that special gift that only you have.

  13. Previously I was working as a childcare teacher and principal for 6 years. I actually enjoyed working with children. But I don’t see myself earning any credit or achievement in my job. I used to work from 7am to 7pm almost every day, having mountains of workload and problems which forever cannot be finished or solved. In the end, my stress level increased and temper became very bad especially towards my spouse and families. So I decided to change another working environment. It happened that I got married and was planning to settle down with family. So I took a break. Indeed, I got pregnant and kept throwing up during my first few months, health wasn’t good, so decided to work only after I gave birth. • While waiting for my delivery, I took up some other courses on other skills such as event planning and came across a beauty class which back then was conducted by my mentor. I tried all the skincare products and picked up some makeup skills from the class. I found that the steps were easy to follow.

  14. The product that really impressed me very much is Mary Kay’s Lip Mask. I used to have dry lips and dark spots on my lips which my GP and many lip balms couldn’t help me. When I first tried Mary Kay Lip Mask, it immediately helped me to remove the dead skins on my lips. I have never felt so happy! So I bought the Lip Mask and I don’t have dry lips problem anymore. At the end of the class, my mentor Juliana praised me for looking young and pretty and said that I should join her as beauty consultant and I will definitely do a great job! • I never really believe what she said but I was happy inside as I have never received such great compliments from anyone in my life before. • It was only after a few months, after spending some thoughts on what I want to do for my new job and how to balance both family and career, I decided to find out more about the business opportunity from her. • I like the fact that the startup capital is very minimal, there’s free training provided, good mentorship program, it’s your own business, you have flexibility of time and I can make myself and other ladies around me look beautiful. So I joined Mary Kay in Oct 2012 when I was in my third trimester. I started off with my families and felt so happy to see them happy and beautiful at the end of the beauty class. I never thought I could do this and have been doing for close to 1.5 years.

  15. It has been a great journey. I never thought I would be able to receive so many rewards, recognitions and certifications, just for conducting beauty classes and enriching women’s lives. Now I can tell people what achievements I have in my life. There are more to come! I am looking forward to debut as Independent Sales Director by June 2014 which is like a Head of Department in Corporate world. • In which company can you be promoted to such a position within 2 years or less. How many of us can reap what we sow? In Mary Kay, we can! How many companies provide free trainings and guarantee help you to move up if you really want to move up? In Mary Kay, we can and every consultant has a fair chance to move up. As you are your own boss, you need not worry about retrenchment or not able to apply for urgent leave. • I thank God for showing Mary Kay to me! It helps me to be able to prioritize and balance my life – God first, Family Second, Career Third. I thank Mary Kay for appreciating me for who I am. I thank all my sisters in Mary Kay for looking after me and giving me moral support when I need it. I thank my seniors for their Go Give spirit in grooming me! I could never find all the above mentioned in any other company. That’s not all!   26. Debrief for all Consultants while you attend my classes! • Every Thurs at 7pm it’s our skincare/makeup open class. You can bring your guests, however you are required to bring your own products for your guests. • After the whole skincare class, let’s sit down together and do debrief. • As you can see from the above flow of the class, there are 3 parts. To all New Consultants, please memorise the following when you attend my classes: • For first class, memorise what I did for part 1. • Then when you come for the second class, memorise what I did for part 2 • and then when you come for third class, memorise what I did for part 3. During the classes, you can record or video taped me during the classes. This business is all about duplicating . Just duplicate what I did. And treat all your guests with the “Make me Feel Important” attitude. Tell me also your learning key points and what can you improve from there.
