  12. Analysis of Toolkit #13 • "Planning And Evaluating Change: Technology Transfer, Global Development" • Despite the pervasiveness of change in society; it is not well accepted • The main driver behind change is technology. Organizations must encouragethe acceptance of change through education • Change is gauged in a business in the areas of growth, profits, and customer satisfaction. Change must be evaluated for effectiveness

  13. Analysis of Toolkit #14 • "Political Correctness And Ethical Issues: Core Values And Civility" • Cultural (faith and religion), moral and ethical issues play a major role in technological advances and need to be taken into consideration during all stages of production • Moral and Ethical issues must be part of the decision making process when attempting to be Politically Correct. Not all decisions that are “good” for the majority constitute that which is in the best interest of the society involved • The technologist must also consider the responsibilities that pertain to human and natural resources in order to be prepared for future growth • Diversity in the technological culture needs to be understood in order to control the technology and the traditional barriers must be removed

  14. Analysis of Toolkit #15 • "Environmental And Resource Core Values" • Energy and resources are needed in order for the technological culture to exist • As we produce, resources are being used, and as we dispose of materials from production, the environment suffers • Technologists should be looking ahead to the future, and thinking of ways of alternative energy and how to wisely manage our resources • The goal is to reach a balance that will benefit society by updating technology while maintaining an environment that is suitable for living

  15. Future Uses of the PDA • Technologies are expected to merge: The phone, the calculator, the PDA, the camera, the tape recorder, the walkman, ... all might develop into one little machine, a true personal assistant • Communication will become more important, and easier to implement as digital cell phone nets (GSM, PCS) develop. Nokia's move to incorporate a cell phone and a portable computer in the same device is just the beginning. Also, Internet technology is winning for all sorts of communication • As electronic devices become faster and smaller, we will see new applications that require more computing power, memory, and bandwidth: color images, moving images, real time data transfers, detailed maps, continuously updated information
