  1. My First Journey Abroad by Katarina Vicentijevic

  2. From 5th to 11th of June I went to Hungary with my teacherMira and three other friends: Nevena, Stefan and Danilo. Hungary

  3. Hungary

  4. Hungary During the trip we saw Gyor, Balaton Lake, Budapest and many churches. We also had a chance to meet our friends from Bulgaria, from the capital Sofia.

  5. Bori We were accommodated at Gyor, with families. The hosts were children whose teacher Tunde was organizer of the whole project. My host was Bori. She is 15 years old. We had a great time together. In this picture, she is the girl on the left in the front row. I had great luck to be with my friend Nevena in the same house.

  6. Gyor In Gyor I could see many historical monuments. I was surprised to see how big their City Hall is. I could also see many storks which were standing in their nests on light posts.

  7. Pannonhalma

  8. Pannonhalma On the second day we saw the monastery at Pannonhalma. There we saw a film about the life in monastery and boarding-school, which is part of the monastery. In the centre of the monastery there was a huge hexagonal library with 450,000 books. During the Second World War there were many refugees there because it was protected by the Red Cross.

  9. Pannonhalma

  10. Balaton Lake

  11. Balaton Lake I liked the trip to Balaton Lake. It was really cosy there because the day was pretty hot. There were many ships there and tourists who came to see “the sea of Hungary”. We also saw a beautiful white swan there. We took plenty of photographas and I especially like the one in front of the statues of King Stephen and Queen Gisella in which Nevena held her hands as if she was praying.

  12. Hungarian Parliament

  13. Hungarian Parliament We had the honour of seeing the interior of the famous building of Hungarian parliament. There we heard many interesting details about the building. For example, the match-stick model of the parliament was so big that the architects had to knock down part of the house so that they could bring the model out.

  14. National Crown We could also see the crown which had been taken by Hitler’s army in the Second World War and was it was only in 1978 that it was finally returned by the American government.

  15. Gyor Swimming Pool On the last day we went to Gyor swimming-pool with our hosts and their teacher Tunde. We had a nice time together.

  16. Friends • When I now think about everything, it was wonderful. This was my first trip abroad and it was really special. I think that my friends had a great time, too.
