  2. Outline 1. What was your involvement with “Leadership for Results”? 2. What sort of impact has it had? 3. What could have been done better? 4. How might the process be improved the next time? 5. What have you learned from this?

Background • In Ghana, three "Leadership for Results" workshops within 8 months to develop and boost leadership skills. • The intent was stimulate leaders to address their own development. • Over 80 participants selected from 14 organisations selected from governments, international organisations, Banks, private business and civil society • AAP PMU participated in the workshops, UNDP Co actively worked with the LRP from Dakar

  4. IMPACTS • Network amongst participating organisations • A blend of leadership skills and climate change • Portion of degraded Osubin river basin restored • Organisations such as ECOBANK have taken a more practical approach to Climate Change issues • Community involvement

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE BETTER?? • Deep involvement of AAP/PMU • Source funds and allocate to the breakthrough programme • More dialogue with AAP/PMU team and other stakeholders to assist in the monitoring and sourcing funds etc • Engage stakeholders and the design incentive mechanisms right at the outset • Involve District Assembles actively in the breakthrough process being done in communities.
