  • 5th July 1942- The heat of the desert is unbearable , but the Germans keep coming . I wish I was back in that brothel in Tripoli, corrr!
  • 11th July- Flies, flies, flies. Who would expect flies in the desert. They are everywhere, almost as bad as the sand
  • 15th July- Sand, Sand, Sand. Who would expect...Oh well it is a part of life here. I don’t know how the locals live?
  • 20thJuly- We can really feel it now, Rommel is coming.
