  3. Government’s role In Business. • The Australian government has always been supportive of businesses and their role in the economy.

  4. Language • The country is multicultural like U.S, but their Official Language to conduct Business Is English.

  5. Normal working hours. • Monday to Friday • 1 hour lunch • 39 hours to the most.

  6. Before you visit… • Australia is a casual country and its people are friendly and open. • Lunch can be a business affair, Arrive on time in both Australia. • Australian handshakes are firm and quick. • Australian slang (used frequently) and accept their laid back attitude, it doesn't mean Australians are lazy or indifferent, simply calm.

  7. Proper title to address… Although you should call someone by their last name when you first meet them, this will not last long-especially in Australia, as you will probably soon be invited to call your host by his or her first name.

  8. Unwritten rules • Bringing a bottle of Australian wine, a box of chocolates, or some other small item to your host's evening dinner party is expected.

  9. Proper Greeting • Proper title to address? Australia is on a first name basis with everyone, from their university lecturers to those in high positions that we work for

  10. Women’s Role • Many high positions are held by women in Australia, including the CEO of Australia's second largest bank (Westpac). It is a very egalitarian society - where equal rights are promoted (although there is quite a large amount of racism in Australia, however subtle it may be). • Women typically don't shake hands with one another in Australia.
