  2. EXPECTATIONS OF THE RM STAFF • We want each student to graduate in 4 years. • We want students to develop goals. • We want each student to take the most appropriate academic courses possible. • Help students grow and become responsible and independent young adults upon graduation.

  3. REACHING GOALS • To become responsible, students need to be given responsibility. • To become independent, students need to experience independence. • Develop a partnership • Parents need to stay informed

  4. TOOLS PARENTS NEED TO STAY INFORMED • Review the material available to you • Parent handbook • Athletic handbook • Buy a directory • Read the material we send home • Become familiar with the MCPS and RM web pages

  5. TOOLS CONTINUED • Join the RM listserv. • Have the morning announcements sent to your email. • Establish an Edline account and check it regularly.

  6. TOOLS CONTINUED • Become familiar with the calendar. • Become familiar with testing. • Contact RM staff as needed.

  7. KNOW THE ATTENDANCE POLICY • Notes must be delivered to the attendance office within 3 days. • The note must include • Student’s legal name and grade • Student’s ID# • Reason for the absence • Loss of credit (LC) 5 unexcused absences
