OR • Math/Science Block • 9:30 – 10:30 –Math or Science Rotation (1 Hr.) • 10:30 – 11:30 –Math or Science Rotation (1 Hr.) • 11:30 – 12:00 – Lunch • 12:00 – 12:20 – Recess • 12:20 – 12:30 – Restroom Break • 12:30 – 2:30 – Afternoon Block • Language Arts/ Social Studies Block (2 Hr.) OR • Math/Science Block • 12:30 – 1:30 –Math or Science Rotation (1 Hr.) • 1:30 – 2:30 –Math or Science Rotation (1 Hr.) • 2:30 – 2:40 – Homeroom, Class Meeting, Pack-Up • 2:50 – Dismissal

  8. Grades • Grades taken and entered by subject teacher. • Home Access and TAC • 3 week Progress Reports for students with an average of 75 or below only. • Report Cards at end of six weeks. • Graded papers handed back on regular basis • Failed/Redo Assignments

  9. Goal Setting/Progress Tracking • Student Ownership of Assessment • Class and Individual Goal Setting and Progress Tracking • PDSA • Academic Progress Data • Look for our Learning Objectives online and in our newsletters.

  10. STAAR Tests • STAAR Tests in 3 Subjects- Math, Reading, and Science • More Rigorous • College Readiness • SSI- Student Success Initiative- must pass to move on

  11. Supplies/ Organization • Students will keep a binder with dividers for each subject, agenda, homework, and notebooks for each subject • Take it home and bring to school each day.

  12. Attendance • School hours 7:50-2:50 • Tracking Attendance • Attendance Award • Leave before 10:00am = Absent • Leave after 10:00am = Present • Must send handwritten note upon child’s return to school to excuse absence. • Make-Up Work

  13. Arrival/Dismissal • School starts-7:50. Students can arrive as early at 7:20, go to classrooms at 7:35 but not before. • Dismissal at 2:50 • Students will not be called out of class after 2:20 for early checkout

Transportation • Usual Transportation home should be the same all year if possible • Must send a written note, email, or call the office if there are any changes in the way your child gets home by 1:30 • No Pick Up anywhere except car line • No walking anywhere except with walkers to Stacee Lane • No motorized vehicles, skateboards, or scooters on school property.

  15. Visitors/Volunteers • Visitors- check in at office and get visitor sticker • Visitors not allowed at recess • Volunteer opportunities- must have background check- included chaperones for camp and field trips. • Sign out child early after party or volunteer time- must sign out student in classroom or office. • No siblings attending classroom parties or grade level events.

  18. Camp Grady Spruce • December 17-19, 2011 • Camp Grady Spruce, Possum Kingdom, Texas • All 5th Grade Students are encouraged to go as it is a part of our science curriculum and a wonderful experience • Camp Orientation Meeting October 16that 6:00 pm

  20. Cookie Dough Fundraiser • Our ticket to camp! • Kickoff will be on Friday, September 28th. • Fundraiser ends on October 13th. • Wide variety of items, online ordering, and donation option. • The more money we raise the more we can do!
