  7. TIKULFigures and informations • Was born in 2008 • 289 hectares • Planting of over 100,000 cocoa trees • Goal of producing 1.2 tons of cocoa per hectare per year

TIKULFigures and informations • Protecting and preserving the environment… • Organically grown • Certified Rainforest Alliance • And registered as a UMA ‘unidades de manejopara la conservacion de la vidasilvestre’ = Wildlife Conservation Management unit • Forbidden to hunt, and was reforested with 15 000 trees in less than 2 years • ….combined with high technology • the irrigation system distributes water to all parts of the plantation, allowing the continued growth during dry periods. • Water is coming from aquifer 100m below the ground and is distributed by micro-aspersion or misting systems;
