Fluid overview webinar – Human Resources May 1, 2019
Agenda • Background • Overview of Fluid Terms and Navigation • Demonstration of Fluid Navigation
What is fluid? • Fluid replaces the previous menu driven style and gives a more intuitive and modern interface that groups similar items together • Fluid changes the way that you move around in PeopleSoft HCM and should improve your experience • What hasn’t changed? • Page functionality – how you get to a page has changed, but once you get there, the way the system performs generally stays the same
What is fluid? • Not all pages are updated with Fluid look and functionality • Pages within PeopleSoft HCM are accessible via a mobile device, but currently only access through computers is supported • Expected mobile devices will be supported in the future
How we got here…. • Met with subset of agency HR, Payroll and Benefits staff to review new system configuration on 3-13-19 • Met with Employee and Manager Self-Service Focus Groups on 3-19-19 to receive feedback on their experience • Met with Core Agency Focus Groups the week of 4-22-19 to test system functionality • DPM/Central Payroll reviewed all feedback and submitted updates to STAR • System configuration updated based on feedback
Setting expectations • Fluid go-live date: Tuesday, May 7th • Users will be locked out from noon on Friday, May 3rd through early May 7th • Notification of lock out is already on login screen and there will also be an Announcement • Job aids will be updated with new navigation with a focus on ESS/MSS job aids initially – also plan to have critical core user job aids updated • HR Fluid Navigation Job Aid https://dpm.wi.gov/Documents/STAR%20JobAids/Fluid_Nav_HR.pdf • Intro to Fluid ESS video will be available
Fluid structure Homepages, dashboard, Tiles, navigation collections, Workcenters
Homepage – landing page with a collection of Tiles or dashboards • 3 Homepages: • Employee Self Service (default) • Manager Self Service • Workforce Administrator
Homepages • If you have multiple home pages, select where you want to go from the drop-down
Homepage – What you see based on security roles • Access to Homepages and Tiles within those Homepages based on your security • ESS – all employees • MSS – managers and time approvers only (AM_SUPERVISOR, TL_MANAGER and TL_ADMIN_WCS) • Workforce Administrator – HCM Core Users
Several ways to navigate in fluid • Navigation Options: • Navigation Collections – preferred and most efficient • Navigator (like classic menu) • My Favorites • WorkCenters
Dashboards and tiles • A Dashboard is a collection of Tiles that isn’t a Homepage • Tiles are located on a Homepage or Dashboard and allow users quick access to a Navigation Collection or a transactional page • Size of Tiles and Dashboards will adjust based on the size of your screen
Navigation collection examples A Navigation Collection is a compilation of folders and pages grouped by functionality in a Tile or WorkCenter
Navigation overview On the upper right hand top of the page, there are several buttons
Navigation collection layout Navigation Collection Pages within Nav Collection
Work centers A WorkCenter is used to increase the productivity of users by streamlining and simplifying their work in a central place (i.e. HR WorkCenter, Payroll/Benefits WorkCenter)
Navigation – important changes • Important Notes • Breadcrumbs are no longer available • Cannot alphabetize the Navigation items • Only those who approve time will have Manager Self Service Homepage (AM_SUPERVISOR, TL_MANAGER and TL_ADMIN_WCS) • HCM Core Users will not have this homepage unless also a supervisor • Most efficient way to access pages is through Tiles and Navigation Collections
Post fluid go-live • If you have any issues (security, unable to run process, unusual error messages…), create a JIRA ticket • Include navigation used and screenshots of the entire page • If you have trouble navigating the system, reach out to your DPM agency support person for guidance – do not submit a ticket • DPM Agency Support – Shari Kaether, Brianna Maki
