  1. Welcome to Oakland Catholic High School! Spirituality, Scholarship, Service

This weekend (Sept. 6th - 8th) St. Paul Cathedral is hosting a unique event:  • The Pittsburgh Encounter is a free weekend-long cultural festival which provides living examples, expressions, and witnesses, of what happens when we encounter Jesus Christ, who generates a new culture, more vibrant and full of life!   • Informational flyers will be posted on the Campus Ministry board. 

  4. Dress Down Day • Friday is a Dress Down Day to benefit the ICE fund! • Cost - $3 • Remember to follow the guidelines for dress down day.

  5. Driver’s Education classes – Fall Session • The Driver’s Education class information for the Fall Session can be obtained in the Main Office. We need 25 students enrolled to have the class. Students must sign up in the Main Office. • The class will be held on Tuesdays in Room G15 from 2:40pm to 5:40pm for ten weeks starting September 10, 2013. • Any questions please see Mrs. Ceponis in the Main Office.

  6. OC Eagle Eye • Attention writers, photographers, editors, and cartoonists: • The first meeting of the OC Eagle Eye student newspaper will be on Tuesday, September 10, after school, in the lecture hall. • If you would like to join the newspaper staff but cannot make Tuesday's meeting, see Mr. Finnegan in room 205.

  7. The first meeting of OC Theater Company will be this Thursday, September 5, from 2:40 until 4:00 p.m in the JOA Theater.    All are welcome!!

  8. Cheerleading tryouts for the 2013-2014 season will take place on September 3 and 5 from 2:50 to 5pm in the Aux Gym. • There will be a parent meeting on September 4 at 6pm in the lecture hall. • Please see Ms Teeters in room 211 if you have any questions.

  11. Headband Sale • If you would like to purchase a headband, like the ones given away on Friday during the Calendar Kick-Off, stop in the Alumnae Office and see Ms. O’Brien-Rice. • The cost of each headband is $10.

  12. Attention seniors: If you attended  the Kairos Retreat last year and are interested in being a Kairos Leader this Fall, please pick up an application from Ms. Farrell or Ms. Dorrie.  

  13. Interested in gardening?   Join Mrs. Gentile next Monday, September 9, right after school, to re-plant the small gardens by the JOA entrances.  Many hands make light work!

  14. The First Campus Ministry Meeting for the year will be September 12th in room G10 from 2:45 - 3:30.   Please plan to attend!  

  15. Attention Juniors and Seniors College Visits begin on September 9th Please review the visit list on the Ground Floor Guidance bulletin board, the tv screens, RenWeb or Naviance to view the list of colleges visiting OC.  Sign up and get your pass in the Guidance Office

  16. The 47th Annual Duquesne University College Fair will be held at the A.J. Palumbo Center on Sunday, October 13th from 1PM to 3PM Over 150 colleges and universities will be in attendance.  This is a great way to meet with representatives from a variety of schools No registration is required.
