  2. How do students learn? • reading • memorising • thinking • writing • note-taking in lectures • observing • listening to and talking with others • exploring, modeling, researching and practicing

How do students learn? • Engaged Learning- Students are engaged in active learning when they read, write, listen, speak and view in a variety of settings to gather information and develop concepts important to everyday life. These concepts, together with basic facts, form the foundation for all learning. • Problem Solving- Problem solving is fundamental to all curriculum areas. Students construct knowledge of the world as they recognize problems, formulate solutions and arrive at conclusions • Communication - Communication is central to learning to express ideas and understand the ideas of others. Clear communciation also involves use of standard grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization.

  4. How do students learn? • Collaboration - Collaboration is an important process in a democratic society. Learning is often a social process that requires students to value and work with others. • Seeking Connections- Knowledge does not exist in isolation. Students learn that the content areas are connected. Such learning is essential to forming a comprehensive understanding of the world in which we live. • Technology - Technology allows students to reach beyond the walls of the classroom to obtain information on a wide variety of topics. Technology permits students to be active researchers and communicators in the quest for knowledge.

How should we teach? • Teacher must have a characteristics which can create fun environment. • Must be expert in their field e.g. commitment. • Convey the information in creative and memorable way. • Great teachers help students feel like they can learn and succeed. • Should be caring and empathetic, enthusiastic and convey a love for learning.

How should we teach?Characteristics • Interact with the child physically and mentally. • Gives affection to the pupils, makes them understand what emotion is. • Not only use textbooks but also use resources/materials that happening outside and practice balance with theory. • Able to maintain control in the classroom.

How should we teach?The basics • Should master the subject that they teach. • Must have a firm grasp of general subject .e.gMaths, English, Science, etc. • Should know individual differences. • Should know how to motivate and integrate students in diverse background. • Understand child psychology and learning theory. • Able to teach students to take decisions in all conditions. • Social awareness.

How should we teach?Social Awareness • Qualified teachers should have ability to identify students’ emotional or psychological problems. • Have enough resources to solve the problems. • Support the gifted children and those who has learning deficit. • Awareness on drugs, smoking, Aids and Sex.

  10. How should we teach?Effective Communicator • Able to change communicating technique to be sure students can grasp instructional concept. • Allow students to ask questions. • Able to change lessons “spur of moments” in order to accommodate their needs.
