  4. Timothy • Probably in mid-20’s to mid-30’s. • Timothy was probably a teenage when he became a believer. Probably by Paul on Paul’s first missionary journey. • Mother, Eunice, and his grandmother, Lois, instructed him in the Scriptures from a young age. • Father was a Greek

  5. 1 Timothy 4:11-12 11 Command and teach these things. 12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. A Godly Man lives a godly life! • Speech

  6. Ephesians 4:29 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29 29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

  11. 1 Timothy 4:15-16 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. A Godly Man constantly self-examines himself! • Life (inner, outer) • Doctrine
