  1. Youth rights in boulder By: Yaire Gutierrez & BrayanAleman Boulder High School AVID

  2. Community • Community is, a group of interacting people sharing common values, and living in the same area with cultural or social connections.

  3. Equality • Equality is, making opportunities available to every gender, race, cultural backgrounds, and ages within a community.

  4. Our community • Boulder High School • AVID program • Friends • Family • Soccer team • Clubs • Neighborhood • Latino community

  5. What we like about Boulder • School, we can make new friends, join activities inside or outside of school. • We can state our opinions and not be scared of being turned down right away. • We can have our basic needs met pretty easily. • We have lots of green spaces with lots of playgrounds for kids to play. • Calm, peaceful place, beautiful view and very environmental community. • Small quiet town

  6. What we don’t like about boulder • Seeing garbage around parks • Not many job opportunities for teenagers • It’s really expensive to live here.

  7. What can we do to change? • Seeing garbage around parks: *Place more garbage cans and recycling cans around through out the community *Have volunteer work revolve more around cleaning up parks. • Not many job opportunities: *Lower the minimum age requirement to work *Have after school job opportunities • Expensive to live here: *Offer discounts for students * Offer discounts for families who can’t afford to buy houses.

  8. What should be included in a bill of rights for youth: • Have essential needs met- nutritious food, shelter, clothing, health care, and accessible transportation. • Access to the 21st century education that promotes success in life. • Training in life skills that will prepare us to live independently. • Employment opportunities • A sense of hope for the future.

  9. We love boulder!
