Mission and Vision At BRCPS, we believe that the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning can: • raise student performance in core academic areas, • develop students’ ability to think critically, creatively, analytically and collaboratively, • prepare students to be competitive in a technology-rich 21st century global workplace, • expand students’ perspectives by connecting them to the community and the world outside of their classrooms, and • enrich our assessment practices to better monitor a wide range of student needs. Goals (SY 2010-2011) • for all classes to participate in an end of year school-wide STEM Fair • for all classroom teachers and specialists to make progress towards improving their TSAT score. • to develop a system and collection ofBest Practices. • technology in instruction (teachers) • technology in curriculum (students)

IT Team • Meets Mondays 8:30am-10am weekly • ILT and Principals/Directors are welcome to add agenda items • Regularly attends ILT meetings • Lisa Radden (Elem) • Ernest Dodson (Prim) • Laura Stroessner (Kinder) • Develops IT Coaching binders (see binders) • Develops the Technology Scope and Sequence for students • Works with the TLT to develop and document Best Practices • Works with the TLT to plan and execute the STEM Fair • Administers the TSAT • Collects and analyzes pre and post data • Develops targeted PD that aligns with the core curriculum

TLT • Take the TSAT to measure where you are, set personal goals, and measure progress towards those goals • develops and implements the technology curriculum at BRCPS • Learn how to “Infuse” Mass technology standards into your lesson plans to execute the Technology Scope and Sequencefor students • meets monthly with the IT Team to collaborate, communicate and create • Meet twice a month 4:00-5:30pm in the Media Center • Meet onlinein our Ning • attends relevant workshops and seminars about technology in K-12 curriculum and instruction • Ex: MassCUE, MCCSPE Tech Talks,Elluminate Webinars

TLT • pilots emerging software and hardware solutions in their classrooms by forming SIGS (Special Interest Groups) and reporting on them in the Ning • Ex: Ken Kotch, Jessica Pers, Laura Stroessner:ipadsand ipods as Math and listening centers • supports and shares knowledge about the use of technology in the classroom with their colleagues by building Best Practices. • A Best Practice is:1 unit plan, 1 lesson plan, 1 artifact,1 assessment, and 1 instructional asset • plans and executes an end of year school-wide STEM Fair • See next slide

STEMFair Science/SS/Specialty, Technology, ELA, Math • Location: BRCPS cafetorium • Time: 4:00-6:30pm/June • 4:00-5:00pm: Walk around Fair with booths • 5:00-6:30pm: Culminates in the 6th grade Eportfolio Showcase • Who: each K-6 classroom and Specialty • What: contributes 1 project to the Fair • How: TLT helps plan projects with their grade level • 1 common project per grade level • 6th grade is the eportfolio • Supported by TLT, IT Coaches, and Intern(s) • Schedule use of labs per project • Greeted & toured by TechSperts • Audience: BRCPS students, parents, community members, Board members, Tech partners
