Free Seasonal Flu Shots Seasonal influenza vaccines (Flu Shots) will be available at no cost to Butler students, faculty and staff (anyone with a Butler ID). The vaccine will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and no appointment is necessary.

  1. Free Seasonal Flu Shots Seasonal influenza vaccines (Flu Shots) will be available at no cost to Butler students, faculty and staff (anyone with a Butler ID). The vaccine will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and no appointment is necessary. Please allow 20 minutes in your schedule Bring your Butler ID with you Free Seasonal Flu Shots

  2. Flu Shots while supplies last: • Monday, Oct. 3: • Noon to 4 pm in the basement of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences building (enter the door facing Lilly Hall to access stairs leading to the basement) • Tuesday, Oct. 4: • 9 am to 1 pm in the living room area of the HRC • 3 pm-7 pm in the basement of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences building (enter the door facing Lilly Hall to access stairs leading to the basement)

  3. Flu Shots • Wednesday, Oct. 5: • 9 am to Noon in the living room area of the HRC • Thursday, Oct. 6: • 9 am to 1 pm in the basement of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences building (enter the door facing Lilly Hall to access stairs leading to the basement) • Friday, Oct. 7: • 9 am to 1 pm in the basement of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences building (enter the door facing Lilly Hall to access stairs leading to the basement)

  4. P3 – Mandatory Session! • Rotation Discovery Day will allow you the opportunity here on campus to visit with a variety of our preceptors.  Rotation Discovery Day will be Wednesday, October 12th in the Reilly Room from 1:30-3:30 PM.  • This will be a mandatory session and will be part of RX 501 requirements.  We will take attendance at this session.

  9. Financial Foundation and Protection Workshop • What: Learn the basic tenets of finance that every health professional needs to be familiar with in order to develop smart financial habits. Competitive Internship Positions • The Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy (FMCP), in collaboration with the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), is now accepting applications for 6 internship positions for the 2012AMCP/FMCP/Pfizer Inc Managed Care Pharmacy Summer Internship Programand for 2 internship positions for the 2012AMCP/FMCP/Allergan, Inc Specialized Summer Internship Program in Health Outcomes.  • Students will find complete program details, eligibility criteria and access to our online application process at FMCP’s website www.fmcpnet.org or AMCP’s website www.amcp.org.

Pharmacy Expo • When: Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 4-6PM in the Reilly Room • A variety of employers will be present to talk about internships, summer job opportunities, and part time work.  • Information on the employers attending will be available in mid-October and I will send it out as soon as I receive it. • Dress is business casual and if you have a nametag-wear it!

Congratulations! • On October 15, 16, and 17, Katie Cich, Nicole Dores and CarlyD'Agostino will represent Butler in the quarterfinals in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Annual Meeting against the following teams: • Belmont University  • Campbell University • Massachusetts • Worcester School of Pharmacy • University of Tennessee • University of the Pacific  • University of Utah  • Western University • Thanks for your support in Butler's first experience in this national competition and GOOD LUCK in PITTSBURGH!

Dean’s Forum • Thursday, Oct. 6 at 11AM in PB 150. • Stress Management Seminar with Sarah Szerlong, Doctoral Psychology Intern with the Heath & Counseling Center -  October 6th (R) 11 am – noon in PB 150 (lunch service starting at 10:50 am) Representatives from the university’s Counseling and Consultation Center will do a presentation on stress management for COPHS students. • A light lunch will be served-bring your own drink.

  16. PA Week No matter where they practice, PAs are an essential part of the health care team. This PA week we will celebrate 16 years since Butler’s PA program was founded. October 6th – 12th Bake Sale & Speaker October 10th

Stress Management Workshop • Thursday October 6th at 11AM in PB 150.  • Representatives from the Counseling and Consultation Center will do a presentation on stress management for COPHS students. They are trying to gauge interest in a stress management workshop for students, and will teach you some easy stress management techniques during the session.
