  7. 2010 Disposal System Accomplishments • Served 6,398 households and 524 businesses. • Disposed of over 550,000 pounds of waste. • Collecting controlled substances during special collections 4 times per year. • Wisconsin banned landfilling e-waste 9/1/11. E-waste collection increased 40% after ban. Household Hazardous Materials Program

  8. 2010 Disposal System Accomplishments Waste to Energy (WTE) • Aluminum Recovery • Xcel tonnage exceeded 73,000 tons • Monthly meetings/collaborative relationship

  13. 2010 Disposal System Accomplishments Landfill Gas to Energy • Contract signed with Gundersen Lutheran – fall 2010 • Construction contract to be awarded in May • County operational by end of August • Project operational by end of November

  14. Environmental Stewardship – The La Crosse Disposal System operated four programs in 2010 material to beneficial reuse programs.
