  1. Sleptons Analysis Plan • There are two susy benchmark points: • Squarks and heavy highs (sqhh) • Charginos and neutralinos (chne) • Selectrons and smuons were generated with whizard for both points. • J-J.Blaising LCD WG6 meeting

  2. e¯e⁺->ẽ¯ẽ⁺ :σL=8 fb, σR=25fb (sqhh) mẽL= 696 GeV; mχ₁° =340GeV; mẽL and mχ₁° can be measured from dN/dP mẽR=423 GeV; lower bound of dN/dP to close to 0 R polarization of beam decreases W bkg, but decrease also σ(ẽL) and Increase σ(ẽR) => ẽ measurement not possible at 3 Tev for point sqhh LCD WG6 meeting

  3. e¯e⁺->ẽ¯ẽ⁺ :σL=3 fb, σR=6fb (chne) mẽL= 1100 GeV; BR(ẽL->e+ χ₁° )=0.16 BR(ẽL->χ̃₁±+ ν)=0.84 mẽR= 1010 GeV; lower bound of dN/dP not close to 0 R polarization of beam decreases W bkg, decrease σ(ẽL)=1.3 fband increase σ(ẽR) = 9fb => ẽR measurement possible at 3 Tev for point chne LCD WG6 meeting

  4. Background:e¯e⁺->e¯e⁺:σ=1.7x10⁷ fb dN/dEvis dN/dθ(e±) Background for selectron studies; A cut 5⁰ <θ < 175 ⁰ and PT> 10 GeV reduces the bkg to 2x10⁴, LCD WG6 meeting

  5. Background:e¯e⁺->e¯e⁺:σ=1.7x10⁷ fb A cut on PT12 and ACOP will reduce the cross section by a factor 20 down to ~ 10³ fb. The efficiency for the signal is 97%. LCD WG6 meeting

  6. Background:e¯e⁺->e¯e⁺νeνe:σ=993 fb Includes ZZ, ZW, WW, Zgamma, Wgamma processes Whizard cuts 5⁰ <θ (L)< 175 ⁰ and Pt(L) > 10 => σ=313 fb PT12>20 and ACOP > 4 cut, rejects 259/500; negligible Invariant mass cut will be applied at analysis level LCD WG6 meeting

  7. Summary sleptonsand charginos and S.M generation with whizardis ok σ(susy)=46.4 fb Event generation cuts for selectrons , SUSY and SM background: 5⁰ <θ(L)< 175 ⁰and Pt(L) > 10 (in whizard) PT12>20 and ACOP > 4 (after whizard at generator level) σ(ẽR) = 6fb, for POL0, studies can be done with L=500 fb¯¹ => 3000 events Generate 30000 events, 60 jobs σ(e1e1) =1000 fb with cuts => for L=500 fb¯¹, => 500000 events, 1000 Jobs σ(e1e1n1n1)= 313fb with cuts => for L=500 fb¯¹, => 160000 events, 313 Jobs σ(ww-n1n1)xBR=1.1 fb and σ(zz-n1n1) xBR=0.2 fb ; generate 10000, 20 jobs σ(susy) with cuts = 13 fb; => 6500 events; generate 65000, 130 jobs 1530 jobs Simulation time: xx secs/event Reco time ? ; With these cuts, no χχ->hadron overlay needed ? (check) Differentcuts willbe applied for smuons; to be finalized. LCD WG6 meeting

Summary sleptonsand charginos and S.M generation with whizardis ok σ(susy)=46.4 fb Event generation cuts for smuons , SUSY and SM background: 5⁰ <θ(L)< 175 ⁰and Pt(L) > 10 (in whizard) PT12>20 and ACOP > 4 (after whizard at generator level) σ(μ̃R) = 0.7fb, for POL0, studies require L=2000 fb¯¹ => 1400 events Generate 15000 events, 30 jobs σ(e2e2) =333 fb; 4.5 fbwithcuts => for L=2000 fb¯¹, => 10000 events, 20Jobs σ(e2e2n1n1)= 132fb withou cuts => for L=2000 fb¯¹, => xevents, y Jobs σ(e2n2n2e2)=15.2fb without cuts => σ(ww-n1n1)xBR=1.1 fb and σ(zz-n1n1) xBR=0.2 fb ; generate 10000, 20 jobs σ(susy) with cuts = 13 fb; => 6500 events; generate 65000, 130 jobs 1530 jobs Simulation time: xx secs/event Differentcuts willbe applied for smuons; to be finalized.
