  2. Definition • Tourett’s: Characterized by multiple facial and other body tics. • Tics: Sudden painless involuntary muscular contraction as of the face.

  3. Associated Features • The Dsm-iv-Tr -Starts before the age 18yrs -You must have both vocal and motor movement tics -Tics occur more than one time a day -This cant be caused by drugs or any medical conditions. • The feelings are moody, mad, upset, piss -Their thoughts are clueless they don’t know what to do.

  4. Etiology • The causes of Tourett's is within the brain were there is a imbalance chemical flowing around. This also interrupts people during their sleep causing exaggerated movement. • Family -A way to get this disorder is genetic passed on by family from another or it will randomly appear with no trace .

  5. Prevalence • The percentage of kids getting Tourett's is three out of every 1000 children boys tend to get it more often then girls.

  6. Treatment • One of the important treatments is education to keep the brain pumping and learning. Their isn't any universal cure, another treatment for Turrets would be pills that have been proscribed by a doctor. What the pills do is they help keep the violent movement and vocal shouting to a limit. Not all people who have Tourett’s need a treatment all they need is a environment well no one will make fun of them and also some consulting.

  7. Prognosis • Some Individuals improve in their late teens threw early 20’s. Some also become symptom free no longer having a disorder.] • In other hands other people go threw their rest of their life with having this symptom.
