  3. Purpose of SES • Provide additional academic instruction to increase academic achievement of students in schools in the second year of improvement • High quality and research based • Tutoring, remediation or other supplemental enrichment

  4. Eligibility • Students from low income families that attend Title 1 schools regardless of their ELA or math scores • Free or Reduced lunch eligible

  5. Notification • At least annually that the student qualifies for services and that the school is in need of improvement • Indicate reasons for designation • By mail • Website

SES Providers • All State Approved SES providers are eligible to contract with the SINI School • 20% set aside • Info available on WWW.emsc.nysed.gov • Search Supplemental Educational Services in NCLB • NCLB Allocations and Provider Catalog • Tutoring in and out of school • Web based • Home Center based

  7. Contract Features • Student Learning Plan • Individual Services Agreement • Pre/Post testing • Quarterly reports • Year end reports • Provider change form • Multiple provider form • Finger printing • Teacher qualifications • Insurance

  8. Contract Provisions • Confidentiality • Child Abuse Reporting • Use of Facilities • Hourly charges • Service delivery • Termination • Gifts

  9. Advertising Services • All advertisement done by school district • Eligible students controlled by school district • No vendor advertising with school name or logo • Flier • Brochure • Website

  10. Billing • Contractors submit bills quarterly • Provider • Student name • School • Hourly rate • Hours served • Amount of invoice • Total per student fund balance • Date paid with PO number

  11. Oversight and Cautions • Provider responsibilities • Code of Conduct • Clear expectations • Billing accuracy • Attendance • Termination of services • Year end reporting • Competition
