Ekphrastic The solider crabs enter first But are not easily getting near The ocean swirls and hurls its attack It brings home the dunes as a reward The Ocean War The sea is brewing for its attack The sand is bringing up a defence As the storm comes to claim the dunes The sand only acts as a weak fence The oceans churning and raging As the dolphins bring up the rear

  4. Metaphor “My Bed” Taking a walk to heaven Laying on a cloud I will sleep there all night Not making a sound “Oven” Sitting in the kitchen Warm as a hug from Mum Ready to bake the family some dinner As it serves us food and a hot bread buns

  6. Struck by a moment A Summers Day at the Beach The burning hot heat Cooked my feet As I walked on the white burning sand There were big and small grains As my feet were in pain Where the ocean meets the land Through the wings The eagle was flying high A thousand feet into the sky Blocking the sun light The sun is spreading though its wings As I’m sitting on my rickety swing The sinking sunset tells me it’s almost night

  7. Song lyric Mum came barging in screaming ‘What is the racket?’ I told her my story and she left me alone I am now thinking what to do In my bed to try to get to sleep When mum enters again and tells my to get up for school I am wondering how fast the time has gone since the episode of the night Alarm I was sitting in my bed; Waiting for the sun to rise I heard a piercing screech Coming from my alarm clock I am now sitting up My heart is beating fast The clock gave me a fright It’s still the middle of the night
