  3. Description A moose is a mammal. Moose are furry and warm blooded. The baby’s fur is light brown, and the older one has darker fur. Some moose have big antlers. They have antlers with a spread of up to 6ft. (2m). Moose can be 6 feet tall. 1

  4. Diet A moose is an herbivore. That means it eats plants. A moose eats plants, tender twigs, shrubs, woody plants, bark, branches, lilies, and other plants. It drinks water and eats needles. Moose babies drink their mothers’ milk. 2

  5. Survival A moose’s enemies are wolves and bears. It is hard to find food in the winter. Moose may lose 20 percent of their body weight in the winter. When the weather is particularly bad, or if winter lasts longer than normal, some animals cannot find enough food and starve to death befor spring returns. 3

  6. Habitat Moose live in north woods and forests. Moose live in woodlands and open country. Moose live far north world wide. 4

  7. Other Facts Moose are members of the deer family. Female moose will attack humans to defend their calves. Female moose don't grow antlers. 5
