Data Archiving and Dissemination Workshop Originally intended to focus on post-reporting activities Includes analysis and reporting, as well as post-reporting activities A number of themes new to MICS, or with increased emphasis: Archiving, MICS-DevInfo data exchange, Dissemination, Further Analysis Generally, such activities have been low-key or absent in previous rounds

  3. Contents 3 Mar – Main Report 4 Mar – Data Archiving 5 Mar – DevInfo MICS Data Exchange 6 Mar – Further Analysis 6-7 Mar – Data Dissemination plus 28 Feb-1 Mar - Work on data and tabulations with selected countries

  4. Main Report To introduce aspects of main report previously not (sufficiently) discussed: sampling errors, tabulations, guidelines To discuss areas/issues that need special attention, with emphasis on recent changes to data processing programs and report template To work with participants on finalizing issues related to tabulations and main report

  5. Data Archiving To introduce a software program – IHSN Toolkit – to facilitate archiving of metadata and data To make sure that surveys are well documented, easily accessible

  6. DevInfo MICS Data Exchange To introduce the DevInfo MICS Data Exchange By providing an automated process of transferring MICS results to DevInfo environment, enhance the use and dissemination of MICS results, and it’s use for advocacy purposes

  7. Further Analysis To discuss types of further analysis that can be performed with MICS data Examples of further analysis To discuss further analysis plans already in place

  8. Data Dissemination To discuss data dissemination in general To assist in the development of a dissemination action plan To provide templates for data dissemination, as a minimum package To discuss dissemination plans already in place

  9. Plus Plus Plus To work on data sets and tabulations throughout the week To review the status of surveys and discuss timetables for activities + timing and content of technical assistance To discuss follow-up actions for all themes
