The History of the Roller Coaster

The very first roller coaster was built in 1780. Back then, they were called scream machines. They were first in Russia. The car hauled up the hill by mules, and went down ice covered mountains. The people had to hike up 5 stories of stairs to get to the top. The first roller coaster that was built in the United States was in Coney Island in the 1990’s. John Miller introduced the first under friction roller coaster.

I have recently gotten over my fears of roller coasters last year when I was taken to Hershey Park. I went on every roller coaster ride in the park including Fahrenheit and Storm Runner. The first one I ever went on went upside down so I was terrified. Once it did the first loop I was relaxed and I had a great time.
