Current Status • The New Event Model (NEM) was approved by AIAA BoD in May 2012 • The new forums are: • AIAA Science and Technology Forum & Exposition • AIAA Defense and Security Forum & Exposition • AIAA Aviation and Aeronautics Forum & Exposition • AIAA Propulsion and Energy Forum & Exposition • AIAA Space and Astronautics Forum & Exposition • Beginning implementation in January 2014

Current Status • AIAA Staff is assessing venues for key criteria (capacity, layout, cost, proximity to industry, etc.) • Previously selected ASM hotels will be used for SciTech through 2018 • Venues for 4 out of 5 2014 forums secured • Rolling out some features prior to 2014 • AVIATION and SPACE starting transition in 2013 • ITAR sessions (US Only) at JPC 2013 • New forum organizing structure developed

Science & Technology Forum & Exposition • Dates/Location Confirmed: • 13-17 January 2014, National Harbor, MD • Executive Steering Committee (2014-2015) established: • Dr. Robert “Bobby” Braun, Professor of Space Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology • John Evans, Vice President, Research Engineering, Lockheed Martin • James Shields, Chief Executive Officer, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. • Tom Shih, Head and Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Purdue University • Dave Throckmorton, Program Manager, Northrop Grumman (2014 General Chair) • ESC to identify high-level themes/topics by end of January 2013
