  2. EatonRouteis a web based application for suppliers to obtain standard routing instructions for inbound collect shipments to Eaton facilities or 3rd party locations. • Routings involve shipments made via small package (FedEx Ground), less than truckload (LTL), truckload (TL), or combination thereof, that are made within the US and limited cross border application for Canada and Mexico. • Allows a supplier to quickly and easily access current routing instructions via the Internet to provide cost effective shipping instructions with Eaton preferred carriers.

  3. EatonRoute: • Suppliers are required to access this system every 15 days (or prior to shipping if shipments are sporadic) to verify no changes were made to the standard routing instructions. *Note that you will need to turn off your Pop-Up blocker in order to use this website.

  4. EatonRoute: • Will be accessed from Eaton’s Supplier Portal:

  5. This is the EatonRoute Welcome page. To access the routing instructions click the Access Eaton Route Guide Here button.

  6. Here is EatonRoute Inquiry page where you will begin the process. Take note of the special instructions under the Ship to Information section to see if your shipment qualifies.

  7. Menu Bar Items Home – Clicking here will take you back to the Eaton Route Guide Home page. Route Inquiry – Clicking here will bring up a clear entry form. Contacts – Clicking contacts will provide the names and numbers for technical support. Help – Clicking here will provide the Freight Class descriptions and the on-line demo link.

  8. Step 1 – Enter your origin information. This can be done either by entering your city, state information then tabbing past the country field.

  9. Tabbing past the country field will prompt a pop up box to display with all the associated zip codes for that city, state combination. Simply click on the zip code associated with your shipping location and the system will populate the form.

  10. Origin information can also be populated by entering the postal code and tabbing through the country field. This action will auto populate the city and state or provide a pop up to choose from multiple cities.

  11. Step 2 – Next is to enter Eaton Location information in the Ship to section. Eaton has location specific routing instructions so it is very important that you select the correct Eaton location. This can be done by clicking on the binoculars icon next to the location name field. This action will pop up a Location Lookup window.

  12. The best way to find the Eaton location is to enter the city and/or state and click the Find button in the upper right hand corner. • Try to avoid using the Address field. There are too many variances in the address in order to find an exact match.

  13. Here are the results for Eaton locations in Allentown, PA. Select the location by clicking on the appropriate number in the Location# column. This will auto-populate the necessary Ship-to information. If there is only one location for your search, then it will be auto-populated for you without having to click the Location #.

  14. At this point, the user has a couple of options. The best option is to click the Get Route Guide button in the lower right hand corner. This will result in Routing Guide Instructions that will show the recommended carrier under three weight breaks.

  15. By scrolling down to the middle of the page, the user will see the above information. Match your shipment weight to the ranges provided and contact the appropriate carrier. If necessary, take note of the Expedited Routing Instructions. This page can be printed by clicking the Print This Table icon in the lower left.

  16. The second option is to enter the weight and clicking the Get Route button in the lower right hand corner.

  17. The results will show one carrier. By clicking on the icon under the Instructions column, a pop-up will show a contact URL and phone number.

  18. For 3rd party shipments, follow the previous instructions for entering Shipper and Ship-to information, then click the 3PP Only check box. This will allow you to adjust the destination information.

  19. Change the Destination City, State, Zip and follow previous instructions to determine appropriate carrier. Do not change the Location field as it may result in an incorrect routing.

  20. End of EatonRoute Demo Thank you for viewing the Eaton Training Document Click Here to Restart Demo Or select the Go To drop down menu and select Supplier Rate Inquiry to get back to the Route Inquiry page
